The News Has a Truth Problem

fake news sources
This comic isn’t funny, I know. I’m sorry about that. It really makes me angry, actually. Again, I apologize. I found the list of fake news sources at dailydot.com. I can only hope they aren’t a fake news source! I didn’t include the satire sites, which seemed obvious to me. There were so many fake news sources, you probably can’t even read it, can you? Terrible. What the heck has Democracy come to? You can view the whole list here.

“An explanation of climate change from a Nobel Prize-winning physicist looks exactly the same on your Facebook page as the denial of climate change by somebody on the Koch brothers’ payroll. And the capacity to disseminate misinformation, wild conspiracy theories, to paint the opposition in wildly negative light without any rebuttal—that has accelerated in ways that much more sharply polarize the electorate and make it very difficult to have a common conversation.” -President Barack Obama, as quoted in The New Yorker

Shoshanah Marohn
Shoshanah Lee Marohn is sometimes using the nickname/ pen name Shana Lee, because it is much less complicated, and easier to spell.

  1. This is good news:

“both Facebook and Google have responded by cutting these sites out of their advertising networks and otherwise making their stories harder to find.”

Compiling a list of fake news sites is also a good idea.
